UI UX design and brand identity

Brand identity, print and interfaces designed together: a logo, guidelines, mockups and a design system your developers can build from without guessing.

2008 — year we started Paris 8e — team on site Source code — delivered, it is yours

The need

A consistent brand, and interfaces that can be built

An identity is usually made once, then drifts. The logo exists in four slightly different versions, the brochure does not use the colours of the website, and every new screen invents its own margins. Two years in, nobody knows which version is the reference, and the time spent settling those questions costs more than the guidelines that should have been written at the start.

IDEALOGY works on both sides of the same subject. The brand first: logo and its variants, palette, typefaces, business cards, letterhead, brochures, flyers and exhibition material, with the files ready for the printer. Then the interfaces: user journeys, site structure, responsive web mockups, mobile apps that follow iOS and Android conventions, and business software whose dense screens need particular care.

The deliverable that changes everything is the design system: named components, defined states, spacing and type scales, rules for behaviour on small screens. A developer should be able to build a screen without calling us to ask what happens when a disabled button is hovered. So we design in components, and we hand over the source files with the documentation that goes with them.

Services

What we design

Brand and interface can be handled together or separately, depending on what already exists on your side.

Brand identity

Logo and its variants, palette, typefaces, usage rules. Delivered as vectors, with the monochrome and small-size versions.

Stationery and print

Business cards, letterhead, brochures, flyers, posters and roll-up banners. Files at the right dimensions, with bleed and colour profiles included.

UX and user journeys

Site structure, screen-by-screen journeys, content priorities. We test the mockups with real users when the project justifies it.

Web interfaces

Mockups of every page on desktop, tablet and mobile, with the real states: loading, error, empty list, text that runs too long.

Mobile and desktop apps

Screens that follow iOS and Android conventions, and business software interfaces where information density matters more than effect.

Design system

Components, colour and spacing tokens, grid and typography documented — the base your developers build on without improvising.

How we work

How a design project runs

Four stages. The visual decisions are signed off early, while changing your mind still costs nothing.

  1. 1

Scoping and audit of what exists

What you already have, what your customers understand about you, what your competitors do. Deliverable: a written creative direction, approved before anything is drawn.

    1 week
  2. 2

    Art direction

Two or three complete visual routes applied to real material, not mood boards. You choose one, we refine it.

    2 weeks
  3. 3

    Mockups and design system

Rolled out across every screen and every piece of material, then the system itself: components, states, spacing, typography.

    3 to 6 weeks
  4. 4

    Handover and follow-up

Source files, brand guidelines and print exports handed over, then a review of the screens once the developers have built them.

    Ongoing

Example project

A concrete example

Example — to be replaced by a real project

Brand rework and interface for a business software product

Three versions of the logo were in circulation, and every screen in the software had its own buttons. We reworked the identity, produced the stationery and the brochures, then built a design system of 40 components on which the technical team now develops every new screen.

Budget

What a design project costs

The price depends on the number of items, the number of screens and how deep the design system goes.

How it is priced

Design is priced per project

A brand identity, a design system or the screens of an application have no list price: it depends on how many surfaces are involved, the level of finish and what already exists on your side.

FAQ

What people ask us most

Do you deliver the source files?

Yes, every time: mockup files, the logo in vector format, print-ready exports and the usage guidelines. You can then develop your identity in-house or with another supplier, without having to ask us for anything. We keep no file that would leave you dependent on us.

Do you handle print as well, or only web?

Both, and most often together, because a brochure and a website that contradict each other weaken the same brand. Business cards, letterhead, brochures, flyers, posters and signage are delivered at the right dimensions, with bleed and colour profiles. We deal directly with your printer if you want us to.

Can we keep our current logo?

Of course, and it happens often. Many projects consist of keeping the logo and building what is missing around it: palette, typefaces, usage rules, variants and printed material. We will tell you plainly whether the logo holds up technically at very small sizes, in monochrome and on a dark background.

How do developers pick up the design?

Through the design system: named components, defined states, spacing and type scales, documented responsive behaviour. We then review the first screens they build to correct any drift. That review is what prevents things from sliding three months later.
